Sara Kulsum Alavi is a medical doctor. She graduated from medical school at the University of Connecticut and did her residency training at Yale University.
Sara has always loved science. She has a passion for teaching it to children and wrote a monthly science article for Discover Kids Magazine.
Sara has always wanted to write a science book series that features diverse Muslim characters, and began working on Firdaus & Friends in 2016. She hopes this series will inspire young children to learn more about science while using their imagination!
She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband and son.
Aurica Safiulina specializes in children's illustrations.
She studied at an art school as a child. She graduated from college as a designer and has worked for more than ten years at a printing house.
She has illustrated ten books, textbooks, as well as children's magazines. Aurica lives in the city of Nur-Sultan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, with her husband and children.
